Animated Archimedian Solids

Archimedean Solids
This week, students were to construct an Archimedean solid or one equally challenging and complex of their choice.  Additionally, they were challenged with the goal of applying a 2D design that to the surface to directly relate to the specificity of the solids faces and whole design.  The combined design (2/D & 3/D) to enhance the interaction of the audience.

(*note: students made stop-action animations to present their work on line in and demonstrate the movement aspect of the interaction with the solids.  They used ipad aps to make them which produced "mov" files.  Unfortunately, mov files do not show up on blogs viewed on iPads.  A student, Amy Foster, discovered a useful solution to the problem -below)

this animated gif (above) was made by a free ipad ap: 5 seconds or "5s" (search for gif in ap store and choose 5s).  Osnap! has more features but does for some reason, it's mov files wont show up on the ipad for this site.

look for this ap

(below, are videos visible on computers but not ipads due to the flash player that blogs use for display).
They are also visible when visiting blogs on ipads through the ap "Puffin".
(The ipad puffin ap is a browser ap that allows video and other flash displays to be seen on iOS devices)
